Frankly, any gun legislation no matter what the reason and how "reasonable" should be opposed by everyone as unconstitutional and a violation of the Second Amendment. The fact that politicians and others may not like the fact that we the people can and will protect our homes from those that would do us harm and that includes all that would do us harm including politicians no matter how well meaning is what really rankles and rattles their cages. The only way to really get their pea brains off this matter is to throw them out of office as soon as we can make it possible. Some we should not wait for the magical 2010, we should recall them immediately such as the authors of this insane bill. Others we need to let them know that their time is coming as well and to start seeking job counseling because we are coming after theirs. I am tired of them and their so called wealth distribution and tired statements that those that have illegally took it from those that did not. As far as I am concerned only politicians fit that category and they need to start giving it back before we come take it from them.

I would caution that we fight ALL gun legislation having anything to do with the government interfering with our choices as to how or where we store our weapons. Simply: stay out of our houses. If we can carry a weapon then that's the end of it. If I may tell a quick story. I was working as a detective when my partner got a call from the sister of another police officer, she heard several gun shots. We responded, she pointed us to the direction of her brother's house, we looked around and found an ex-girlfriend had shot herself in the head outside. She had decided that she would break into the officer's house (she knew how to do it), she went into his bedroom, jimmeyed a locked closet door, and took his duty gun out then went outside and killed herself. The DA at the time was a political enemy of our Chief at the time. He tried to prosecute the officer for failing to properly store his weapon even though there were no children in the house, the home was locked, and the closet in which the gun was stored was locked. My point is that politicians can not help themselves when it comes to imposing their will and these types of laws enable them to do it.
