La Raza and Sotomayor – Don’t Let The Senate Sell You Out
Posted by G.J. Merits in General PoliticsIt is not often in American history that an event occurs that is so against the grain of American principles the statement un-American imparts a loftier status to what smaller minds revel in as progress. The confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor, a member of La Raza (The Race) from 1998 to 2004 Sotomayor while she sat on the federal appellate court, would be such an event.
There is no doubting the importance of the Latino vote in this country. However, like any other group, the Latino opinion is not monolithic. This is why I find it hard to believe our leaders practically crawling on their knees at meetings of a group that calls itself, in English translation, “The Race”. The very nature of the name is racist, as if no other race counted; every other race only “a race” and not “the race”. I found myself unable to comprehend the yielding of power to these organizations, until I figured something out.
The pandering to racist organizations like La Raza from President George W. Bush, President Obama, Karl Rove, and Presidential candidate John McCain, Governors, state legislatures, and many members from both federal chambers of congress belies an obvious fact – they are able to bow to this voting base because we empower them to do so. It is our apathy that enables, just as our apathy concerning certain facts enabled the election of Barack Obama – our emotions trumped our objectivity. How’s that working out for the country?
In voting with your emotions, you forfeit your own rights.
How has years and years of unchecked illegal immigration worked out for this country? How many billions squandered? How many jobs lost? What about downward pressure on wages and exploding health care costs? How is California, the most liberal state on illegal immigration in the country, faring these days? Three words: IOU.
Are we to sit idly by when our leaders snidely remark those jobs are beneath us – jobs American’s don’t want? Just what level of insult to our collective intelligence will we allow before an wave of frustration washes over our capital?
Also check out Lou Dobbs interview with the current CEO of La Raza, Janet Murguia. How many years, and our politicians still sell us out with reckless and unchecked abandon? Also check out Lou Dobbs’ exposing Janet Murguia and La Raza here, here, and here.
It is time to make your voice heard contact your senators. It is time to stop the nonsense. And let’s not forget Sonia Sotomayor’s activist tendencies. My opinion in this matter is clear – the Constitution of the United States does not impart the power to make law from the bench. Any judge guilty of such an infraction should be subject to removal via impeachment. Yet we keep sitting on our hands. How much must we lose before we, awakened to the danger to ourselves and those who follow us, take action to protect what is ours, and when will it be too late? At what point will inaction lead to culpability?
From some audio clips that indicate the true nature of our political establishment and a look inside the true intentions and goals of groups like La Raza and MECHa, listen here.
